Building a stocking-stuffer line under $3 a unit

Sourcing · September 11, 2026 · the Buying Desk

A stocking-stuffer table is the easiest seasonal build there is, because the customer has already decided the price. One price point, a dozen SKUs, a case of each. The table is full, the sign says one number, and the customer fills a basket without reading a single ticket.

Pick from the departments that already sit under $3 a unit: Fidgets & Sensory, Keychains & Charms, small Party & Gifts and the mini end of Plush & Squishies. The Under $3 filter on the site does the first pass; the margin printed on each product page does the second. Pick the twelve that hold the best margin at the shared price.

Keep the table full through the season by reordering the two or three SKUs that empty first, by the case, rather than restocking everything. What is left the week after Christmas becomes the Valentine’s counter with a different sign.
